One of the most frequent enquiries we receive is relating to the value of the old SA one cent, which explains this post.
We cannot stress is enough, the only valuable one cent coin is that of 1965, struck in Afrikaans ( Suid Afrika ), this coin will demand up to R3500 on the market place.
The English 1965 one cent is only worth around R100 in excellent condition.
All other one cent coins are either worth nothing to very little, as they were minted in their hundreds of millions, they will never be scarce nor worth much.
Most coin collectors collect the Union & ZAR period coins, while only a small number of collectors actually collect RSA coins.
New newest and also now discontinued one cent coins are of no collectors value. You still find them as part of UNC and Proof sets, but the loose one cent coins in your change are of no value.
